Roy MacGregor is seeking a high-calibre commentator and knowledgeable ex-player to anchor live action on Ross County’s proposed ‘virtual’ season ticket channel.
Sky TV’s surprise offer to allow the 12 Premiership clubs to stream live coverage of closed door matches is a potential game-changer financially, amid the Covid-19 lockdown.
But MacGregor is eager to ensure the package – with audience numbers capped at last season’s season ticket sales – marries professional, informed audio to Sky’s quality pictures.
The chairman said: “What we will do is take the pictures from Sky for streaming and to that I want to add proper commentary.
“Celtic have hired the BT Sport team. I’m not saying we could afford that, but I’m examining whether we could bring in a commentator and pundit to make our coverage more professional.
“I want to make sure the product is first rate for as long as we don’t have full spectators in the ground.”
County’s most loyal supporters will be given priority, but pricing is not yet finalised.
