Iain Vigurs enjoying his return to first team with Ross County

Iain Vigurs feels like his career has a new lease of life after returning to the Ross County first team.

The 31-year-old midfielder has missed a lot of time over the last season and-a-half through injury, but has been a regular part of the County side since the turn of the year.

Results on the park have not been great for the Staggies, but Vigurs’ return has to be counted as a bright spark.

For the player himself, it has been a long process to build his confidence back up, but he hopes to put his troubles behind him.

“You don’t realise how much your confidence takes a hit when you’ve been out injured for so long,” Vigurs admitted.

“Just getting that back is key. I feel, slowly, my confidence is coming back with each game.

“All I can do is keep working hard and try to play as many games as I can – and try to pick up some wins.

“You appreciate it more coming back, it feels like I haven’t played in ages.

“It actually feels like I’m starting my career again – it is crazy.

“Those periods are the longest I’ve been out with one injury so it is all about trying to get into the swing of things again, but it’s good to be back.”
