Dingwall athlete claims Nairn 10k title by nine seconds





Dingwall athlete Sean Chalmers was crowned champion at the Nairn 10K as he claimed the title by nine seconds on Sunday.

The Fortrose Academy PE teacher took the title in 30 minutes 49 seconds with Moray Road Runners athlete Kenny Wilson second in 30:58 and Inverness Harriers Stephen Mackay taking bronze in 31:30.

He said he was pleased with his performance in cold conditions.

Meanwhile Inverness athlete Jenny Bannerman made it six wins out of six in the women's race winning in 35:36. Inverness Harrier Amy Hudson was second in 37:06 with Moray Road Runner Michelle Slater third in 40:51.

She was pleased to continue her undefeated streak in the event.
