Steven Ferguson believes Ross County owe the Dingwall crowd a rousing performance tomorrow at home to Premiership rivals St Mirren.
The County co-manager knows the home faithful were stung by the meek manner of the defeat to Livingston towards the end of last month.
The 4-1 battering stood in stark contrast to the impressive 3-0 victory over Hamilton Accies in the league curtain-raiser three weeks before.
With St Mirren likely to be among the clubs battling in the top-flight’s lower reaches this season, the third Victoria Park outing of the campaign holds plenty of significance.
Ferguson, looking for his team to break a run of three defeats in all competitions, stressed: “We’ve had a decent home record since Stuart and I took over, albeit the last time we played Livingston we were well beaten.
“As always in football, you have an opportunity to put that right next time – and this our next time at home.
“We owe our supporters a little bit for that performance against Livingston.
“So we definitely need to put that right and get them back onside.
“They’ve been really supportive of Stuart and I, and the players, so we need to make sure we give them something to cheer about. At very least, we need to give 100 per cent effort.”
