Tain club swimmers in amongst medals as PBs fall
YOUNG Tain club swimmers from Ross-shire and Sutherland have been swimming well at meets across Scotland.
In his first ever Scottish National Age Groups in Edinburgh, Douglas Ross (13) from Portmahomack smashed his entry time in the 400 front crawl for a new personal best. In the 100m breaststroke he made the A Final, coming 8th overall with another PB.
In the Inverness C Grade Meet, Jem Irving (Lairg) notched personal bests in the 100m individual medley and 100m breaststroke.
Andrew Gatton (Alness) took gold in the 100m backstroke and a highly coveted speeding ticket! PBs in the 100m IM and the 100m butterfly followed.
Isla Mackenzie (Tain) had a great swim in the 50m breaststroke. She could only do the one swim as her times for everything else were already too fast for this meet!
Maree Wood (Tain) had three swims, recording more PBs and taking the bronze medal in the 50m back.
Also in the medals was Lucy Dornan (front crawl) who had a fantastic day, taking gold in the 100 IM, bronze in the 100m front crawl and a prized speeding ticket.
Next Friday (May 24) will see the TASC swimmers in Tain for MFR Cash for Kids. Anyone wanting to go along to support them will be very welcome.
