Tain and Strathpeffer athletes achieve Scottish cross country podium success in Dundee

Ross-shire athletes Constance Nankivell and Hamish Hickey continued their success in national athletics when they won bronze medals at the Scottish Student Cross Country Championships.

Tain athlete Nankivell, who started her athletics career at East Sutherland Athletics Club and is now competing for the University of Edinburgh, finished third in the women's individual race in a time of 25 minutes and 42 seconds.

Holly Little of Queen Margaret University won in 25.27 and Kerry MacAngus of University of Strathclyde was second in 25.33.

Strathpeffer athlete Hickey, who started his running career with Ross County Athletics Club and now competes for Stirling University and Central Athletics Club came third in the men's race with a time of 32.10.

Jack Leitch of University of Edinburgh won in 31.45 with University of St Andrews runner Kevin Wood second in 32.07.
