ROSS County produced the mother of all comebacks after being 2-0 down at half time to run riot in the second half.

Two goals from Ross Stewart along with Jamie Lindsay and Billy McKay finding the net sealed all three points at Firhill in a phenomenal comeback.

Partick Thistle made an attacking start to the match when Christie Eillott’s pass released Aidan Fitzpatrick down the right wing.

His cross into the box found Blair Spittal from eight yards who couldn’t get his shot on target as he blasted over the bar.

But they nearly gifted Ross County the lead when Steven Anderson almost turned Josh Mullin’s cross into the net from close range. But he managed to clear the ball off the line at the second time of asking.

The Jags deserved to take the lead in the 21 minute. Blair Spittal's cross straight from the left wing headed towards goal forcing Scott Fox to block the ball with his feet. Fitzpatrick pounced on the rebound first to score from close range.

Three minutes later the hosts doubled their advantage when the County defence failed to deal with a corner kick when Anderson crossed into the box and a scramble saw the ball fall kindly to Christie Elliott who scored from close range.

Ross County reduced the deficit to one three minutes into the second half when Marcus Fraser's cross into the box found Michael Gardyne whose initial shot was saved but Stewart hammered home the rebound from close range.

They almost equalised minutes later when Kenny van der Weg got a head on Lewis Spence’s cross but headed wide of the right-hand post from eight yards.

But they did draw level in the 64 minute after a scramble in the box, the ball fell to Lindsay who from 12 yards fired a low drive past Conor Hazard.

Nine minutes later the visitors were in front when Stewart grabbed his second of the game when he nodded home a Mullin corner.

Things got even better 11 minutes from time when County won a penalty when Jack McMillan fouled Stewart and Billy McKay stepped up and blasted the ball into the bottom right hand corner to make it 4-2 and seal all three points.
