Strathpeffer cyclist breaks world record to reach Paralympic Games final

Fin Graham broke the world record in the C3 3000 metres individual pursuit to reach the gold medal race at the Paralympic Games this afternoon.

The 24-year-old was in superb form to set a new world record of three minutes and 17.14 seconds during his heat earlier this afternoon.

But he only held the world record for a matter of minutes as Jaco Van Gass of Great Britain regained his world record in the following heat in a time of 3:15.488.

The two men are set to take on each other in the gold medal race which will take place at 3.26pm.

Graham won two silver medals at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2021 in the individual pursuit and road race.

He finished in second place to Van Gass in the indvidual pursuit in Tokyo.
