Mackie scoreline was harsh on Ross Sutherland, says head coach Mann

John Mann felt the final scoreline against Mackie Academy was harsh – even if Ross Sutherland did not deserve to take anything from the game.

Caledonia North Two’s bottom-placed team left Stonehaven empty handed last weekend, losing 36–10.

The visitors’ early tries were scored by Michael McClenaghan and Edward Murray-John, but with the Stags desperate for every point to try and avoid relegation they went all out for the victory.

Mackie took full advantage of that attacking mindset, and ran in three tries in the last 10 minutes to move the result out of reach.

“The scoreline was probably a little bit flattering to Mackie, because it was 16–10 for more than half an hour,” head coach Mann explained.
