The shot-stopper was forced off right on the cusp of half time in the Staggies’ 5-0 defeat to Celtic last Saturday, being replaced by Jack Hamilton.

Having been assessed, the former Hibernian and Dundee United man now knows that he will be out of action until well into the new year.

County confirmed the news on social media, writing: “Following an injury sustained during Saturday's game away to Celtic, Ross Laidlaw underwent a scan on his knee yesterday.

“The results have shown damage to the knee which will see Ross out of action for a period of 8-10 weeks.

“We wish Ross all the very best with his recovery!”
