Caberfeidh and Scotland shinty star won the Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club JBT Open Championship

Kevin Bartlett was crowned Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club JBT Open champion.
The Caberfeidh and Scotland shinty star finished on top ahead of 100 players in the tournament who travelled from as far afield as Carlisle to take part.
The season also ended on a high for Michael Macnab who won the final competition – the Green Keepers Vase – with a score of 65 gross nett 59
The champion of the season with the best gross score was Niall Docherty who recorded a 63.
Club spokeswoman Jean Burnell says despite a difficult year for the sport caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club have been pleased with the number of events it has held as it looks forward to the winter season.
“Despite all the difficulties, the club has still managed to deliver a relatively full programme with an extended season,” she said.
“The members have been keen to get out and all the competitions have been well supported and keenly contested.
“Although the main competitions have been completed play still continues with the winter eclectic now starting, giving members something to aim for during the winter months.”
In the North Golf Winter Alliance at Wick Golf Club, Dougie Thorburn won the competition beating Alan Larnach due to a better inward half after both men finished on 68.
Thurso golfer Bryan Sutter won the category one competition with Tain golfer Calum Gunn winning the category two competition and Angela Grant from Brora the ladies winner.
Billy Ferries from Tain won the nearest the pin competition.
