Hot prospect Jacob Henry says jetting out to South Africa on a prestigious scholarship can be the catalyst for him to kick on after an injury-ravaged season.

The former Dingwall Academy pupil – now plying his trade at Melrose while he studies in Edinburgh – has been left frustrated by a number of setbacks this season.

But after being awarded a place on the John Macphail scholarship, the 18-year-old believes his five-month stint at Stellenbosch University can help him get his promising career back on track.

“It’s been a very frustrating season because I’ve spent quite a lot of time injured but I am getting fit now,” Henry said.
