Ross-shire teams announced to play in Inverness amateur summer league

28 teams have been confirmed to take part in the Inverness and District Football Association leagues (IDFA) due to start next month.

The IDFA confirmed last week that amateur football will return to Inverness, Nairn and Ross-shire this year after it was forced to cancel its campaign in 2020 due to the impact of the pandemic.

The new season is set to start on Monday, June 7, if restrictions allow the season to go ahead.

Outdoor sports are set to start again on Monday, May 17, and clubs have already arranged pre-season friendlies in preparation for the new campaign.

The teams making up this season’s league competitions are:

Premiership – Avoch, Ardersier, Contin, ICM Electrical, IRN Security, Loch Ness, Maryburgh, NMM Sams and Tomatin.

Division One –Balloan, Black Rock Rovers, Charlestelona, Culloden Blacksmith’s, Drakies PDG, Highland Hospice, Hill Rovers, Innes CI and Muir of Ord Rovers.

Division Two – AFC River Ness, Black Isle United, Citadel, Conon Bridge, Gellions, Highland Athletic, Invergordon Social Club, Inverness Athletic, Ness Thistle Highland Aviation and Tomatin United.
