In his best showing of the season on the North Scottish Alliance circuit, Muir of Ord’s Jamie Whittet claimed a third scratch place at Inverness last weekend then topped the low handicap nett returns.
After an outward one-under-par 34 Whittet then holed from 20 feet on the final green for birdie and a homeward 36 for sole possession of third scratch before his nett 68 won the low handicap section by one from home member Duncan McGrouther (7) 69.
Fortrose and Rosemarkie’s Alan Cameron finished alone in fifth place with 72 (35/37) while his club mate Lewis Reid, when requiring a par on the final hole for 73, lost a ball from the tee and did not complete the round.
