Ross rides his way to Strathpuffer win

FOUR years ago, Marty Ross took up mountain biking so he could take part in the 24-hour Strathpuffer endurance race.

Last weekend, the Maryburgh athlete realised his dream of being crowned the men's champion.

He completed 25 laps of the seven mile course in freezing conditions at Torrachilty Forest near Contin, two more than his nearest rival.

He said it was a great feeling to win the event that inspired him to take up the sport.
