Ross County Women and Girls hand out 2024 awards to top performers in historic 12-month span for the club
Ross County Women and Girls held their annual awards night in Invergordon last weekend.
It has been a successful year for the club as a whole, launching their first senior teams into the Highlands and Islands League and SWF pyramid, as well as seeing their under-18s be crowned league champions just days after being named Scotland’s youth team of the year.
Now, their key performers across all of the club’s age categories have been recognised for their efforts across the calendar year.
The Highlands and Islands League campaign was a successful one, with victory on the final day sealing the league title for County at the first time of asking.
Their top scorer in the division was Rachel Blackhurst, who picked up her trophy alongside players’ player of the year Daisy Fraser and player of the year Mollie Parker.
For most of the age groups, five awards were handed out: player of the year, players’ player of the year, top goalscorer, most improved and a club ethos prize.
At under-18 level, Keira Syrjanen was named player of the year, with Teagan Syrjanen and Daisy Fraser jointly winning the players’ player of the year vote.
Mollie Parker was the top scorer, while the most improved player was Katie Mackinnon. Goalkeeper Amy Marshall won the club ethos award.
In the under-16s, Yvie Chisholm was the player of the year while Sofia Whall won the players’ vote.
Lorca Macleod was the 16s’ top goalscorer, while Ellie Fraser was named most improved player and Jessie McLelland won the club ethos prize.
Alex Pettigrew was the player of the year in the under-14s side, where Eilidh Mcwhirter took the players’ vote.
Millie Dean was their top scorer, with Natalia Leslie the most improved player and Ella Collins earning the club ethos prize.
For the under-14 colts team, it was Eilish Campbell who claimed the player of the year award, while the most players’ votes went to Hannah Downie.
Ellie-May Macdonald was the top scorer there, Katie Cylman was the most improved player and Lily Munro took home the club ethos award.
The younger age groups play festivals rather than league matches, so there was no top scorer recorded, but the under-12s’ player of the year was Jorgie Gordon.
Blair Taylor was voted players’ player of the year, while AMelie Wojtunik was named most improved and Lily Munro again won the club ethos prize.
At under-10s level, the player of the Year was Sophie Campbell, players’ player of the year was Indi Lamont, most improved was Carerra Docherty and the club ethos award went to Olivia Nicholson.
In the youngest age group, the under-8s, each of the awards had joint winners.
Harper Gordon and Anarah Munro were the players of the year, Emilia Millar and Molly Smyth were the most improved players while it was Anya Flemming and Willow Junor who won the club ethos prizes.
