Scottish Premiership
Dundee 0
Ross County 3
Scorers: Chilvers (23) Nisbet (71) White (79 pen)
ROSS County have won an away game in the Scottish Premiership for the first time in 481 days as they won 1-0 at Dundee on Boxing Day.
Noah Chilvers’ strike midway through the first half, with substitute Josh Nisbet doubling their advantage in the second half before Jordan White’s penalty gave the Staggies victory on the road in the league for 16 months at the Scot Foam Stadium.
The win will come as a huge boost for Ross County who stay out of the relegation zone as they are in 10th on 18 points.
They are two points above Hearts in 11th who are on 16 points after losing 2-1 at home to Hibernian.
St Johnstone are bottom of the table on 14 points after losing 2-1 at home to Dundee United.
The goal came in the 23rd minute when Chilvers fired a powerful drive from the edge of the box into the bottom corner to give them victory.
There was a blow when Aidan Denholm was forced off with injury in the first half and was replaced by Josh Nisbet.
But Nisbet, who signed for County this Summer after playing in Australia for Central Coast Mariners, went on to make an impact when he doubled their advantage in the 71st minute when he met a cross from Chilvers to fire into the net.
Ross County killed the game off with 11 minutes remaining when they were awarded a penalty after Josh Mulligan fouled Nisbet in the box.
White made no mistake from the spot to wrap up all three points.
Ross County play their final game of 2024 when they take on Hearts at the Global Energy Stadium on Sunday with kick-off at 3pm.
