Ross County striker nominated for player of the year

ROSS County striker Billy Mckay has been nominated for the PFA Scotland Championship player of the year.

The Northern Irishman is one of four candidates that are on the shortlist for the award that recognises the league's top player during the 2018/19 season.

Other nominees include Lawrence Shankland of Ayr United, Pavol Safranko of Dundee United and Stephen Dobbie of Queen of the South.

Mckay (30) has scored 20 goals this season for the Staggies including a hat trick in the 3-2 win against Ayr United when he broke his arm while scoring the winning goal in the process.

The winner will be announced on Sunday, May 5.
