Ross County complete the signing of Watford prospect Jack Grieves on a season-long loan
Ross County have completed the signing of Watford teenager Jack Grieves on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has come through the youth set-up at Vicarage Road, joining the club when he was eight years old and making his senior debut in January 2023.
He would make his first league start towards the end of last season, as Watford defeated Sunderland 1-0 in their final home game of the campaign.
Grieves has shown promise since returning for pre-season too, scoring the only goal of the game in Watford’s first friendly, against Boreham Wood.
Watford manager Tom Cleverly is a fan of the youngster, previously telling the Watford Observer: “Grievesy has been training fantastically well since I’ve come in, and he trains with a real intensity.”
Ross County boss Don Cowie, himself a former Watford player, commented: “We are delighted to secure Jack for the season ahead. He plays in an attacking midfield role and is very highly thought of at Watford.
“He has impressed in pre-season at his parent club and it is fantastic that he has decided to join us for the next step in his development.
“Thank you to all at Watford for their help in making this deal possible.”
Grieves is County’s seventh signing of the transfer window, following the arrivals of Will Nightingale, Ricki Lamie, Jack Hamilton, Charlie Telfer, Akil Wright and Ronan Hale already this summer.
