Ross County pulled off a shock result in the second round of the Betfred Cup as they won 2–0 away at Celtic.

The Staggies won a penalty in the 38th minute when Josh Reid went past his marker to send a low cross into the middle.

Ross Stewart got there first, but was taken down before promptly getting back up to convert the spot kick past Vasilis Barkas.

Celtic spent most of the match trying to find a way to claw back level, with Alban Ajeti coming closest when he hit the woodwork just before the interval.

County would extend their lead five minutes before the end though, as Alex Iacovitti rose highest to head home Iain Vigurs' corner and make it 2–0.
