The 32-year-old was forced into calling time on his playing days due to a troublesome hip injury, bringing the curtain down on what had been a very successful career.

His 46 goals in 2016/17 played a crucial role in bringing the Highland League title to Buckie Thistle, but he has not played since the following season.

McLeod (pictured) was keen to stay in football, though, and joins County after conversations with academy manager Gordon Duff.

“It is an area that the club really wants to develop, and I am really enthusiastic about what we can do and how we can build a strong structure here for years to come,” McLeod said.

“We all know there is great talent within the Highlands, and I look forward to working to find the next crop of young players that we hope will go on and represent the club in the future.”
