Ross County's opponents in the group stage of next season's Premier Sports Cup have been revealed.

The Staggies are top seeds, with their sixth place finish in last season's Premiership the highest of any side in the competition – which has seen the regionalisation at this stage scrapped for the 2022/23 campaign after six years of a north and south divide.

The draw for the group stages of the 2022/23 Premier Sports Cup has been made.

As a result, they will face Dunfermline, Alloa Athletic, East Fife and Highland League runners up Buckie Thistle.

County do have a history in the competition, lifting the trophy in 2016 after overcoming Hibernian in the final.

Group matches will begin on the weekend of July 9, concluding on the weekend of July 24 – one week before all four SPFL leagues begin.

Eight group winners and three of the best runners up will join the sides who have qualified for European football – Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Dundee United and Motherwell – in the second round which is due to take place at the end of August.
