Ross County confirm signing of versatile Akil Wright from English League Two champions Stockport County for an undisclosed fee
Ross County have added some versatility to their ranks ahead of the 2024/25 season with the signing of Akil Wright from Stockport County.
The 28-year-old is capable of featuring at both right back and in central midfield, and joins from Stockport County for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract.
Wright had made 35 appearances across all competitions for Stockport last season as they lifted the English League Two title, having previously had spells at York City, Wrexham, Barrow and Fylde.
County boss Don Cowie commented: “We are absolutely delighted to finalise the signing of Akil.
“We identified Akil at the end of the season as a player who we believe is a great fit for our football.
“Akil has a wealth of experience in English football, predominantly playing in defence but with the versatility to also play in midfield.”
