Ross County manager Malky Mackay says the club must handle the fact they are going to bring in new players this summer with so many out of contract at the end of the season.

A number of the current squad are set to see their contracts expire at the end of the month.

However, six of those players are on loan at the club, who include Jack Burroughs, Declan Drysdale, Joseph Hungbo, Ashley Maynard Brewer, Kayne Ramsay and Jake Vokins.

A number of players including Regan-Charles-Cook, Alex Iacovitti and Blair Spittal are set to see their contracts run out at the end of the month with no news on whether they plan to sign new deals or leave the club after the campaign is finished.

Mackay says if they do see a number of players leave the club, they will be ready to attract quality talent to Dingwall to replace them.

“I am in the door 11 months and it was about putting a structure in place for all areas of the club we can build upon,” said Mackay.

“We need to recruit better but at the same time, make sure there is a structure that players aren’t going out of contract all the time with the backing of chief executive Steven Ferguson and chairman Roy MacGregor. Around 10 have signed long term contracts which allows stability for the start of the season.

“We have to do more business this summer as we have various players out of contract, but we have to handle that.

“But there is a foundation and a group we have belief in that it doesn’t matter the name is Ross County.

“The fact we are as good as any team outside this division outside the top two or three, there is a confidence that comes with that and we need to build on that.”

Ross County players that have signed new contracts include defenders Keith Watson, Connor Randall, midfielder Jordan Tillson and striker Jordan White who have agreed to stay for the next two years.
