Ross County captain Iain Vigurs does not expect the Staggies to be hit with controversy the way Aberdeen and Celtic have over the last week.
Those two sides saw their scheduled matches last night, as well as an anticipated clash against each other this weekend, postponed after breaches of Covid-19 protocol.
In Aberdeen, two players tested positive and six more have been forced to isolate after going to a bar after facing Rangers two weeks ago.
Celtic, meanwhile, were unaware defender Boli Bolingoli had travelled to and from Spain on a day off from training without quarantining, and brought him off the bench against Kilmarnock last Sunday.
Those incidents prompted talks between Scotland’s national clinical director Jason Leitch and all Premiership clubs to remind them of the guidelines, as well as their responsibilities.
With Nicola Sturgeon earlier this week brandishing a yellow card to Scottish football, it has been a stark reminder of how fragile football’s return is right now.
Midfielder Vigurs, though, is confident no such scandals will be happening in Dingwall.
He believes everyone at County knows what role they have to play, and reckons he does not have to add an extra voice reminding his team-mates of that.
“The good thing about our group is the boys know their responsibilities,” he said.
“We’ve had a couple of meetings where we’ve re-
iterated what has to be done. They’re not dumb – they know what needs to be done.
“We’re more or less self-isolating up here in the Highlands anyway! I’d like to think nobody within our group would do anything outwith the rules.
“Especially with every-thing going on and so publicised, it would be kind of foolish – nobody wants to be on the front pages.
“We’ve got a good group of lads with a history of doing things right, so I can’t see it happening.
“We have no bearing and no effect on what happens at other clubs, so all I can say is that we’re doing everything we can to let the season go ahead by doing what we have been asked to do, which is abide by the rules that have been given to us.”
