Plenty to aim for as Deephaven shooters eye home international
THERE was plenty at stake as Highland Deephaven Clay Pigeon Club in Evanton held their first 100 bird DTL shoot of the year on Sunday.
Scores can be used for the selection process for the Scottish teamf or the home international later in the year.
The weather was perfect and the 23 shooters started well in the first 25 with David Alford, Black Isle on 25/71 and Iain Hepburn, Dunmaglass, Inverness on 25/74.
In the second 25, Robert Kling, Munlochy shot 25/74 and Donald Mackay, Inverness, 25/73 and at the halfway stage it was Iain on 49/145 with Donald not far behind on 49/143 and in the third 25 Iain came in with a 25/75 and David Alford with a 25/73 and Donald Mackay fell away with a 24/71. But it was in the last 25 that the good scores came in with Douglas Henderson, Ardgay and Donald Mackay on 25/75 and James Skinner, Black Isle, 25/72 and Iain Hepburn, 24/72 and David Alford, 24/71 but it was Iain who held on and finished with 98/292 and took High Gun. First in AA class was Donald Mackay on 98/289. First in A class was David Alford 98/283 and second was Douglas Henderson, 95/280. First in B class was James Skinner, 95/276, second Robert Kling on 92/271. First in C class was Marcus Munro, Rosehall, 90/266, second was Charlie Shaw, Kiltarlity, 90/253.
The next shoot will be the club and colts 3x15DTL and super vets on April 14.
