The manager was disappointed with his team’s lack of response after conceding the lead before going down 2-1 to Dundee United at Dingwall.

It was the first defeat of the Premiership campaign for the Staggies, who had picked up seven points from their first three matches.

Kettlewell said after a decent 40 minutes, he wasn’t impressed with how some of his team reacted after Dundee United equalised.

“I’ve said it to the guys we are a brilliant team when we are winning games of football, so I was disappointed I didn’t see that personality from certain players,” he said.

“But how do we pick ourselves up? We approach our work in great fashion and try put things forward.

“It has been a good start for us, but we have to take the criticism from what happened from 50 minutes of football.”

“The overall approach to the game after 40 minutes was disappointing.

“We got away from the fundamentals and energy we had to win back balls, match runners and defend the penalty area.

“That went to pot for us and that is the disappointing factor but we pick ourselves up look forward to the game.”

Kettlewell said for the first 40 minutes of the match he felt Ross County were the better team which made the defeat even more frustrating.

“For the first 40 minutes we dominated the game and had the better chances and possession,” he said.

“We looked more threatening and chances fell to the correct players.

“Then it was as poor a goal as you could concede as we didn’t clear our lines.

“That is when we are looking for our leaders and personalities to step forward and we didn’t do that.”
