Nine of Ross County’s most promising youngsters have been tied up with new contracts, the club have announced.
The headline name is Josh Reid, with the Staggies saying the 18-year-old left-back will be promoted to the first team squad for next season – where with the departures of Sean Kelly and Richard Foster, there may be an opportunity for him to impress.
Reid has had a taste of senior football having been involved in matchday squads without coming on before, and he also played both of Ross County Colts’ matches in the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup last season.
Josh Black, Matthew Wright, Ben Williamson and Logan Ross have all also signed full time deals, with Ross turning professional.
Also signing on are youngsters Jamie Stephen, Harvey Kane, Craig MacKenzie and Adam MacKinnon.
Co-managers Stuart Kettlewell and Steven Ferguson told the club’s website: “This news continues to show our commitment to developing young talent. We have had a lot of challenging decisions in recent weeks but we are delighted to bring this piece of news to our fans.”
