It has been a strange 12 months for Jordan Tillson.

Today marks one year since he signed for Ross County, at the time looking forward to a fresh start after ending his eight-year association with Exeter City.

Just six weeks passed before football stopped completely because of the Covid-19 pandemic though, and months passed without kicking a ball, so his first year in Dingwall has been unlike any other in his career.

“It has been strange, but I’ve loved every minute of being here,” Tillson enthused.

“It’s such a great place to live, and it’s such a family club. Everyone’s so together, so we’re missing the fans greatly.

“When I first came up here it was great to have everyone in the stadiums.

“Obviously that’s not happening right now but hopefully it will happen as soon as possible.

“It’s a great club, I just want to play as many games as possibly I can for Ross County, and hopefully we can push up this league.”

County have a tough Premiership match on Saturday, with Aberdeen visiting the Global Energy Stadium.

Three points against the Dons could see the Staggies move off the bottom of the league table.

For the 27-year-old midfielder, the team spirit in the County dressing room could be their biggest weapon against Aberdeen.

“The lads are so together,” Tillson insisted.

“It’s obviously an important game for us, we need the points, but the optimism is there. We’ve just got to try and string a few results together, get a couple of w ins on the bounce.

“Look at what some of the sides have done, if you win three or four games you can really shoot up the league, so it’s our aim to do that.

“Aberdeen have always done well under Derek McInnes, but we’re confident we can beat anyone in this league.

“We’ve shown that so far, and obviously it’s a good opportunity to pick up points as well being at home.”
