McSpadden takes player of the season crown as Ross Sutherland host virtual awards night

Ross Sutherland hosted a virtual end-of-season awards last night, with Mitchell McSpadden taking the top prize.

Loose-head prop McSpadden was named the Stags' player of the season after making 11 appearances in the shortened 2019/20 campaign, scoring one try.

Dan Gordon took home the young player of the year award, while most improved was Calum Munro.

One of Ross Sutherland's vice-presidents, Brian Corr, was given the volunteer of the year accolade.

Prizes were handed out all the way through the Invergordon outfit's youth ranks too, and at under-16 level Fraser Ross was player of the year and Moray Fraser claimed most improved in the boys' team, while Lucy Macintosh and Rheannan Rigby took the same awards from the girls' team.

Struan Bowman became the under-15s player of the year, with Struan Chisholm the most improved at that level.

In the under-14s, Cameron Gordon and Tilly Munro were named players of the season, while Michael Bennion and Roisin Beattie improved the most.

Gregor McPherson claimed the under-13s player of the year while Joe Polson won most improved.

Primary Seven saw joint player of the years in Connor Chisholm and Alec Sangster. and at the same level the most improved award went to Maisie Lennox.
