McManus looks forward to second chance in top flight with Ross County

Declan McManus says it has been a personal goal of his to make it back to the Scottish Premiership.

The Ross County man had a taste of top-flight football at Aberdeen, making 12 league appearances while still a teenager.

Now 24, McManus has been a journeyman since leaving the Dons and signing for Fleetwood Town in 2015, spending time at Morton, Raith and Dunfermline before moving to Dingwall last season.

He made 45 appearances in all competitions as the Staggies secured an immediate return to the Premiership, and making it back to Scotland’s top tier has been McManus’s target ever since coming back to play in Scotland.

“I had a small taste of it with Aberdeen, and since I’ve been back in Scotland it’s one of the things that I’ve wanted to do,” he said.
