Ross County manager Don Cowie says club have to be concerned about relegation following defeat to St Johnstone in Perth - However fate is still in own hands to move out of relegation zone after Kilmarnock beat Dundee
MANAGER Don Cowie admitted Ross County have to be concerned about being relegated from the Scottish Premiership after defeat to St Johnstone in Perth today.
The Staggies went down 2-1 in Perth on Saturday afternoon as they remain in 11th place, but now only three points ahead of bottom of the table St Johnstone who have a better goal difference.
However their fate of escaping the relegation zone remains in their own hands as they remain two points behind Dundee in 10th place with two games remaining.

Speaking after the game at McDiarmid Park, Cowie says Ross County have to be concerned of the prospect of finishing in the bottom two.
“We have got to be concerned,” said Cowie.
“We have to face the reality how tight things are now. Credit to St Johnstone as they get the victory and it makes things tight. But despite the run of form we have been on, with two games to go, we still have an opportunity to get out of the position we are in.
“There were little spells that we did well, but ultimately it doesn’t matter because we have come away with nothing.”
“Today has to be a day to recognise the situation we are in. We are not going to hide, I am definitely not going to hide. I take full responsibility for the run of results we have had, it is not good enough.
“But I will make sure over the next seven days I will give everything for this football club and that is what the players will do too.”
Ross County have now lost their last seven matches, with the last time they avoided defeat being a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock on March 1.
With the Staggies heading to Dundee on Wednesday night, Cowie says they will ensure he has a team out capable of getting a result that can move them above the bottom two.
He said: “We will come in Monday and be ready for Dundee.
“There has been times this season this club has shown what it is capable of doing. We know in football confidence is a big thing and unfortunately we are in a poor run.
“But come Wednesday, I will make sure we have a group of footballers that will get the victory that we need.”
