Muir of Ord golfer John Mackay turned back the clock when he won the Scottish Left-Handed Championship 20 years after he won the competition for the first time.

The 49-year-old has won the championship on seven previous occasions at the competition’s original course at Newtonmore and at other venues the event has been staged at.

Mackay first won the championship back in 1988 as he saw off a large field of 44 competitors at Muir of Ord Golf Course last weekend.

MacKay scored a winning card of three over par 71 last Sunday in his halves of 36 and 35.
