Full time | St Mirren 1–0 Ross County (McGrath)

Full time: St Mirren 1–0 Ross County

90' Macpherson shoots just the wrong side of the post as St Mirren go on the counter attack.

Four minutes of added time

89' Tillson pokes the ball just wide after connecting with Shaw's cross from the right.

81' McGrath scores from the spot

St Mirren are awarded a penalty as Collin Quanar is brought down inside the box by Hjelde, although County's defenders were not happy at all.

There is nothing they can do to change the decision though, and Jamie McGrath steps up and sends Laidlaw the wrong way to give the hosts the lead.

74' Off the line again from St Mirren, this time as Macpherson clears Iacovitti's header away.

70' It is an interesting game with the tactical switches – St Mirren have changed shape twice in the second half – but sights of goal are few and far between

52' Inches away for County

The Staggies could have scored twice in a minute there.

Jason Naismith got behind his marker and sent in a cross, where Jordan White's header was tipped by Alnwick on to the underside of the bar.

It drops straight down, but gets half-cleared away to Stephen Kelly outside the box, who shoots and is also denied by the crossbar!

We are back under way for the second half

Three changes for County at the break, Iacovitti, Donaldson and Shaw come on for Tremarco, Andreu and Gardyne. Looks like three at the back with Hjelde and Naismith as wing backs.

Shaughnessy is also replaced at the interval by the hosts, with Tait coming on in his place.

Half time thoughts

Ross County just have not been able to hold on to possession long enough to threaten their host's goal.

The Buddies have pressed well and forced County back, and even when they do manage to pass around the the Saints' forwards there aren't too many options there for an easy pass.

It doesn't really feel like they've gotten a proper foothold in the game as a result, so they could do with a spell of keeping the ball just to put some pressure on St Mirren.

That said, although the home side have looked by far the most likely to score, Ross Laidlaw has only really been tested once, so they are still well in the game if they can get on the front foot in the second half.

Half time: St Mirren 0–0 Ross County

32' Lakin is back on the pitch, so it looks like he will try and continue although Tillson is continuing to warm up.

31' McAllister shifts the ball inside to Erwin, who shoots wide from distance.

30' Charlie Lakin goes down and requires treatment. Jordan Tillson is getting readied on the sidelines to replace him.

28' Great save from Laidlaw to deny McCarthy's header! The St Mirren defender had connected with McAllister's free kick only a few yards from goal.

21' A successoin of headers from a throw in on the right wing takes the ball into County's box, where Connolly blazes a volley over the bar.

15' Pretty even opening exchanges, with County largely coping with the possession and territory St Mirren have had.

The hosts are quick to press the Staggies' defenders on turnovers too, but there have been some nice passing moves from County to work their way around the black and red shirts.

3' First chance of the match falls to the hosts, as Connolly makes a good run inside from the right flank, only to skew his shot wide of the mark.

We have kick off in Paisley!

15 minutes to kick off

John Hughes has made two changes to his side after the 1–0 victory over Celtic, both in the backline.

Callum Morris went off injured in last Sunday's win, and his place in the starting 11 – as well as the captain's armband – has been taken by Keith Watson.

There is also a change on the other side of central defence, with Leo Hjelde reclaiming his spot after being ineligible to face parent club Celtic, with Alex Iacovitti the man to drop to the bench.

St Mirren: Alnwick, Shaughnessy, McCarthy, Doyle-Hayes, McAllister, Durmus, McGrath, Connolly, Fraser, Erwin, Erhahon.

Substitutes: Lyness, Tait, Flynn, Obika, Macpherson, Finlayson, Henderson, Jamieson, Quaner.

Ross County: Laidlaw, Tremarco, Hjelde, Gardyne, Watson, Kelly, Lakin, Spittal, Naismith, White, Andreu.

Substitutes: Hilton, Draper, Shaw, Mckay, Hylton, Iacovitti, Tillson, Paton, Donaldson.
