Full time | Ross County 1–0 Celtic (White)

Full time thoughts

What a result for Ross County!

This was three points that not many people would have expected them to take, and with other results going their way yesterday they are out of the relegation zone and into 10th in the league table.

Celtic had the ball for long spells during the match, but for me County were good value for the win – the visitors only really had one good chance in each half to show for their territory.

Taking this forward will be key, but for now the Staggies can revel in a job very well done.

Full time: Ross County 1–0 Celtic

Three minutes added

90' Big save from Laidlaw to deny Elyounoussie who had risen highest to head at goal.

81' Christie finds a yard of space inside the penalty area and hits a powerful effort at goal, but it goes over the bar.

81' Griffiths has a go from outside the box, but Laidlaw holds on.

70' White puts County in front

Ross County have the lead against Celtic, and it has come from a set piece.

Harry Paton's ball in find Jordan White unmarked at the back post, and he finds the net with a little help from the woodwork.

62' Laidlaw needs to spring into action to get a hand to Christie's effort, before Iacovitti clears the ball away.

57' Christie has a bit of time on the edge of the box to pick his spot, but he pulls his shot wide of the mark.

51' Good move from Celtic on the counter attack, Laxalt plays in McGregor down the left, who feeds it into Edouard to lay off for Laxalt, who had continued his run.

The full back has a go at goal, and hits it pretty well, but it goes over the bar without really troubling Laidlaw.

47' Spittal with the early effort in the half after White took advantage of a loose pass from Laxalt, but it is an easy save for Bain to make.

The second half is under way!

Half time thoughts

Ross County have contained Celtic well for the most part, but Odsonne Edouard is providing a big threat drifting into space between Jason Naismith and Callum Morris.

The Staggies are well in the game at this point though, so I think John Hughes will be happy enough as that has not always been a given against the league's top two teams.

Jordan White has been impressive, and seems a real handful for Kristoffer Ajer and Stephen Welsh to deal with in the air, but County need to hold on to the ball more when they win it and get bodies forward to support him.

Other than set pieces, when they have done that, as shown by Blair Spittal's great chance, they pose a threat to this Celtic team – so based on the first 45 minutes they have every chance of a result here.

Half time: Ross County 0–0 Celtic

41' Keith Watson replaces Callum Morris for County, who had pulled up and required treatment.

Michael Gardyne has the captain's armband now, with Iain Vigurs injured and suspended and vice-captain Morris going off.

36' Huge chance for Celtic now, as McGregor feeds Edouard in down the left to cross into the middle again.

This time it falls to Christie, but he blazes over the bar and out of the ground when it looked easier to score.

29' Big chance for Celtic, as Edouard latches on to a mis-hit Laidlaw clearance.

Turnbull is coming in at the near post, but it takes a touch off a blue shirt and goes behind for a corner instead.

27' Best chance of the match so far is County's as Spittal forces Bain to turn the ball around the post for a corner.

White had won a header allowing Andreu to lay it off to the former Partick man.

Andreu has a chance to score from the corner, but he can only head the ball over the bar without much time to react from Naismith's header back into the middle.

24' Christie wins the ball off Iacovitti on the edge of the County box, but nobody can reach his low cross into the middle.

8' Break in play as Greg Taylor has gone down needing treatment, and he will be replaced by Diego Laxalt in an enforced early change for Celtic.

3' Early effort for County, who are making a real effort to close Celtic's defenders down quickly in the early stages.

Jordan White won the ball from one of those challenges, laying it off to Tony Andreu whose shot was held by Bain.

We have kick off in Dingwall!
