Ross County defender Sean Kelly says he is still on the way back to his best after his latest injury lay-off.

The 25-year-old full back initially made a comeback against Motherwell in the Scottish Cup in January, but soon broke down again and needed surgery.

However he has been thrown into the deep end again thanks to injuries to Keith Watson and Kenny van der Weg, and has started County’s last four matches.

He says it has been a big challenge to play four times in 11 days, and he is still on his way back to top form as a result.

“I’m probably fresher mentally, but I’m definitely not fresher physically, especially when it gets to the last 20 minutes of a game,” Kelly explained.

“I still have a long way to go fitness-wise, I’m miles off where I need to be and where I can be."
