Invergordon to play Scottish Cup tie against Lochar Thistle in Dingwall at Ross County’s Global Energy Stadium
Invergordon have confirmed that their Scottish Cup preliminary round clash with Lochar Thistle will take place at Ross County’s ground this weekend.
The North Caledonian League champions earned a spot in this season’s national cup competition by virtue of winning that trophy, with only Golspie Sutherland licensed to enter the Scottish Cup from the North Caley ranks otherwise.
That invite was opened up to the NCL winners from the 2022/23 season, though, where Invergordon made their debut in the competition.
Back then, they also played their “home” match at the Global Energy Stadium in Dingwall, on that occasion taking on East of Scotland League outfit Newtongrange Star.
Now, they will be returning to Ross County’s stadium for their next Scottish Cup tie, against Lochar Thistle this Saturday. Kick off is set for 3pm.
The Staggies will be playing on the pitch on Friday night in their first Championship home match of the season, taking on St Johnstone in a battle of the two sides relegated from the Premiership.
Invergordon will begin the defence of their league title next Wednesday, hosting Alness United.
