Ross County Athletics Club athlete wins gold at Edinburgh 5k race





Ross County Athletics Club athlete Lachlan Thomas continued his impressive form as he claimed victory at the Edinburgh 5k at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival.

The Invergordon teenager claimed victory in the Edinburgh 5k in a time of 16 minutes and 34 seconds.

It was a dominant performance from Ross County athletes as they completed a clean sweep of the podium.

Billy Sutherland from Latheronwheel claimed second place in a time of 16.37 with Invergordon athlete Kaeden Thomas, brother of Lachlan, in third place in a time of 16:52.

There was more success for the Thomas brothers in the Junior 5K with Lachlan claiming the title in 16:40 with Kaeden in second place in a time of 16:48.

Thomas has achieved major success in his career include wins the Inverness 5K in 2023 and 2024

Lachlan Thomas, along with Billy Sutherland, will represent Scotland at the International Youth Cup in Slovakia on Saturday, June 14.
