INVERNESS Athletic pushed Division One leaders Invergordon hard for victory in the North Caledonian Cup first round.
Kyle Maclean and Jordan Knight put Invergordon 2-0 up after 27 minutes.
However Luke Mackay pulled one back for Athletic as they threatened to pull level in the second half for most of the game.
But Shaun Kerr scored twice in the closing stages to ensure Invergordon set up a home clash with Scourie in the quarter final.
