Invergordon frustration at North Caledonian League null-and-void vote

INVERGORDON manager Gary Campbell says his team should have been declared champions instead of the North Caledonian League being ruled null and void this season.

The North Caledonian Football Association announced the 2019/20 season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

All nine clubs were given a vote to either null and void the season or end the campaign on a points per game system which would have declared Invergordon champions.

Six clubs voted to null and void the season, with Invergordon and St Duthus voting for the points per game system, with one club not voting.

Invergordon were four points clear of second-place Thurso with three games remaining.

Campbell says it is disappointing NCFA clubs did not follow the example of the SPFL divisions and the Highland League of declaring champions.
