Invergordon Football Club have applied to Highland Council to build a stand, floodlights, dugouts and a fence at Recreation Grounds
INVERGORDON have made an application to install a demountable stand for spectators and team dugouts along with floodlights and a boundary fence.
The North Caledonian League club’s application with Highland Council has been revealed as they are also looking to build a five metre high fence at the Recreation Grounds.
The plans were officially published on the Highland Council website on Friday as the defending league champions now await to hear if their application has been successful.
Meanwhile, Invergordon continue the defence of their North Caledonian League title when they face Golspie Sutherland at the Recreation Grounds on Saturday afternoon.
Invergordon are six points behind current league leaders Halkirk United but do have three games in hand on the Caithness outfit.
However, defeat tomorrow would see Golspie move three points above Invergordon into second place.
Elsewhere, Alness United who are in sixth place in the table are set to take on Bonar Bridge at Dalmore Park tomorrow afternoon.
St Duthus are set to welcome Fort William to Grant Park in Tain as they look to improve on seventh place.
Other matches in the North Caledonian League include Bunillidh Thistle v Inverness Athletic in Helmsdale, Halkirk United v Inverness Athletic at Morrison Park and Thurso take on Clachnacuddin A at The Dammies.
North Caledonian Cup first round matches took place last weekend where Invergordon cruised to a 7-0 victory over Clachnacuddin A.
Michael Rodgers scored twice with further goals from Blair Morrison, Kyle Maclean, Calum Brown, Ben Bruce and Oscar Campbell.
Alness United defeated Bunillidh Thistle 3-1 with the hosts going three goals up with strikes from Euan Henderson, Cameron Grant and Michael Mackenzie. Ethan Bews grabbed a consolation for Thistle.
St Duthus went out after a 2-0 defeat to Halkirk United who advanced to the last eight with goals from Sean Munro and Kieran Macgregor.
The other quarter final saw Inverness Athletic win 5-1 at Bonar Bridge. Athletic went two goals up early on with a double from Bradi Hulme. Robbie Breen pulled one back for Bonar Bridge before half time. But Athletic stamped their authority in the second half with goals from Fergus McWilliam, a Dave Macgruer own goal and Ewan Neil.
Two matches took place in the North Caledonian League last weekend which proved to be one-sided affairs. Golspie Sutherland ran riot with a 7-0 win over Fort William. Orkney proved too good for Thurso in a 4-0 victory.
