HIGHLAND Hockey Club’s Ladies 1st team looked for their first win in the second half of the season with a last 16 Scottish Plate match against Edinburgh University A.

The plan to take the game to their opponents paid off from the start with Highland having the majority of possession in the opening 10 minutes. Te home side took the lead from a short corner with Tracy Munro coolly slotting past the opposing keeper at the near post.

Highland keeper Caron pulled off some excellent saves as Edinburgh responded. But the sustained pressure paid off with a leveller.

Highland battled back though, hard work eventually paying off when Karen McArthur latched on to a through ball to make it 2-1.

With confidence building at half time and the loud home support making an impact, the home side grabbed a third through Tracy Munro from another short corner.

Highland now travel to face Glasgow Accies in the last eight on April 7.
