Steven Ferguson says he has been a long-term admirer of new Ross County signing Blair Spittal.
The 23-year-old became the third new arrival of the summer for the Staggies, after leaving Partick Thistle at the end of the season.
Spittal has a lot of experience for his age, playing over 250 matches in his career so far.
Several of those have been against Ross County, and Ferguson and his co-manager at County Stuart Kettlewell have clearly liked what they have seen.
“We have been an admirer of him for a number of years,” Ferguson said.
“We always felt, playing against Blair, he was one that could hurt us and cause us problems.
“He’s got a good pedigree, and Stuart and I like the fact he has played a lot of games for a young guy.
“He puts himself out there. Whether his form is good, bad or indifferent he does not hide. He goes out there and is willing to take a bit of responsibility."
