Kevin Bartlett says he won’t need to give his cousins Blair and Craig Morrison any advice as the Caberfeidh trio prepare for Scotland’s shinty hurling international against Ireland.

The forward will play his ninth international game in Dublin on Saturday with the Morrison brothers both set to make their senior Scotland debut.

Along with Kinlochshiel defender Finlay MacRae and midfielder Donald Nixon, Ross clubs make up five of the 20-man squad.

Bartlett (30) says there is not a lot he can say to help his cousins prepare for the encounter but is happy to help if he can.

“I hoped that they would be in the squad last year but neither of them got in.

“I am delighted both of them got in this year.

“We haven’t spoke too much about it, but if they ask for any advice I can give it to them.

“But there will be plenty of people there to keep them right.

“There is no point me telling Blair how to play as a defender. But with Craig being a forward maybe I can offer him some advice.”
