Davren adjusts to claim indoor podium place

Angus Davren overcame the intimidating prospect a big crowd at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow last weekend to win silver in the indoor Scottish Championships.

The multi-discipline athlete made it to the semi finals in the 60 metres, but did enough to get on to the podium with a second place finish in the high jump.

Dingwall Academy pupil Davren had low expectations going in as it was his first senior competition in the under-20 age group.

But he overcame the odds to clear 1.88m and clinch silverware.

A lack of indoor high jumping facilities in the area means that Davren mostly competes outdoors in the summer months.

One of the key differences between the two formats is the number of spectators.

“The atmosphere is probably a lot different,” Davren elaborated.
