Stuart Kettlewell says Ross County will face geographical challenges in finding new players to join the Staggies during the January transfer window.

The co-manager says the club will be looking at how they can strengthen their squad during the winter break to boost their chances of Premiership survival as they lie in eighth place.

Kettlewell says he and co-manager Steven Ferguson will be looking at persuading players to move to the Dingwall club going into the second half of the campaign which kicks off in just over two weeks’ time.

But he said as part of negotiations, Kettlewell says convincing players to leave other parts of the country to move to the Highlands is a major factor.

“Clubs in the central belt have a slight advantage over us in terms of location and logistics,” he said.

“We will identify players that can try and make us better.

“But it’s about whether these guys want to move to the north of Scotland.”

Kettlewell added: “We know what a great place it is and it is a beautiful place to live, but it is not somewhere where everyone sees their career being.

“We want to see if we can strengthen our squad in anyway that we can.

“But every single team will be the exact same.”
