Invergordon manager Gary Campbell was scathing of his side’s performance in a 3-1 defeat against Football Times Cup group opponents Inverness Athletic at the Recreation Grounds.

The defeat leaves Invergordon without a point at the bottom of their group and facing a trip to Ullapool on Saturday for a dead rubber against Lewis and Harris.

“We didn’t play well enough – in fact, we were atrocious,” said Campbell.

“After our best performance of the season the previous week this was probably our worst.

“We lost soft goals and missed easy chances.

“If you do that teams will punish you and that’s what happened today.”

Campbell will be looking to ring the changes for Saturday’s match against Lewis and Harris with goalkeeper Grant Beattie, defenders Scott Houston and Daniel Christie and midfielder Kyle MacLean all set to return.
