ST Duthus have suffered a blow ahead of tomorrow’s North Caledonian League Division One encounter with Thurso as defender Ross Tokely has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.

The former Caley Thistle and Ross County player has suffered knee ligament damage and manager Stuart Ross has confirmed he will not play again in the 2020/21 campaign.

To boost the squad in the defensive area, Saints have signed former St Duthus and Tain Thistle player Andrew Macleod.

Ross says Macleod has been training with Brora Rangers and made his debut in the 2–0 win over Halkirk United last weekend.

“Andrew made a great pairing with John Campbell at centre back last week,” he said.

“We are also welcoming backing Lewis Ross from offshore and he is able for selection in the next few weeks.

“We are looking a bit stronger at the back and are looking forward with confidence after beating Halkirk.”

St Duthus’ campaign has been blighted by losing late goals, so Ross was delighted his team kept a clean sheet in Caithness last week.

“It was something that we have been conscious of so we were pleased.”
