Baker is on top in Gents Open at Invergordon Golf Club

Derek Baker was crowned the winner of the Ann Cattanach Gents Open at Invergordon Golf Club last weekend.

He took the championship title when he recorded a gross score off 66.

Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club will host The Kingsmills Hotel Pairs Better Ball Open on Saturday.

It will then host The Kelly Open Foursomes on Sunday, August 7.

The Senior Ladies (50+) Stableford Open will take place on Tuesday.

It comes after the club hosted The Senior Gents (50+) Stroke Play Open yesterday after the Ross-shire Journal had gone to press.

Muir of Ord Golf Club will be holding a major event when they hold the Gents Glen Ord Open on Saturday, August 6.

Meanwhile, the 115th Nairn Amateur Open took place at Nairn Golf Club last week.

Nairn member Andrew Burgess won the Challenge Cup and signed off in style with a hole-in-one at the 14th to win five and four.

David Bywater won the Smith Challenge Cup when he defeated Keith Miller in the final. Meanwhile, Ronald Nisbet from Blairgowrie Golf Club also celebrated success when he claimed victory in the Claverhouse Cup.
