Norwich City defender agrees deal to join Ross County on loan until the end of the season





Ross County have signed American central defender Jonathan Tomkinson on loan from English Championship club Norwich City until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old central defender, who joined the Canaries in 2019, will spend the second half of the Scottish Premiership campaign with the Staggies.

Tomkinson, who has played at under-23 level for the United States and earned seven caps, has been on loan with Stevenage and Bradford City previously.

Tomkinson is Ross County’s second signing of Thursday as earlier this morning, they confirmed the signature of Welsh youth international Zac Ashworth on loan for the rest of the season from Blackpool.

Manager Don Cowie, said: “Jonathan helps us to add competition to our defensive area.

“He comes with good pedigree having played regularly for Bradford City last season during his loan spells.

“He is a real presence at the back as well as being mobile too.”

Last week, Ross County signed striker Kieran Phillips from Huddersfield Town on a two-and-a-half year deal.

In addition, Ross County have also recalled Andrew Macleod and George Robesten on loan from Highland League club Brora Rangers.
